| 7/5/2008 4:41:58 AM - July is upon us and Kate can be found on the isle of Manhattan mixing the Telephone Game at Shelter Island Sound in Chelsea with Canadian mix engineer Michael Phillip Wojewoda. They have been mixing a tune a day and are almost halfway through the album. Shelter Island has a wonderful collection of vintage analog gear - compressors, eq's and a tricked-out MCI 600 console from the late 70's. Needless to say, the hours are long but the analog sounds they are getting are well worth it. The album is on track to be released on August 1st on Artistshare. Standby!
More on Kate's new album "The Telephone Game": Songwriting is on pause while Kate mixes and masters the new record. She will be back to writing new tunes once the album is finished. But you can STILL play the Telephone Game. Kate wants you to whisper in her ear: send her poems, love stories, song titles. She responds to every submission sent her way. So go ahead. Don't be shy. Send her your love stories, ideas, and poems via her email on the contact page. If you ARE too shy, send them to her via a brand new anonymous form -- see the feature below for details!
What is the Telephone Game, you ask? Wikipedia says: "The game has many other names, including broken telephone, operator, grapevine, whisper down the lane and pass it down...It is is a game in which each successive participant secretly whispers to the next a phrase or sentence whispered to them by the preceding participant. Cumulative errors from mishearing often result in the sentence heard by the last player differing greatly and amusingly from the one uttered by the first." | | |
